Katie does a Posh!
Posted Monday, July 09, 2007
|
Has Katie Holmes been taking insporation from her best pal Victoria Beckham? It appears that way, because the 28 year old has gone for the chop!
The actress looks more sophisticated with her stylish new haircut, which she unveiled last week. And it's very similar to Posh's bob - perhaps we should rename it to the "kob"!

Katie Holmes copies Posh Bob
Posted Monday, July 09, 2007
|
Katie Holmes showed off a sleek - yet vaguely familiar - new hairdo recently when she stepped out on a dinner date with her husband Tom Cruise.
The Batman Begins star has had her flowing tresses chopped into a neat bob - and the cut is reminiscent of the "pob" hairdo sported by the acress' new best friend Victoria beckham. Posh's hair has got a little shorter and blonder.
Katie Holmes hair is hardly suprising as earlier this year Victoria Beckham styled the actress for a Harper's Bazaar cover shoot.

Posh Bob

To style this Victoria Beckham Posh Bob yourself, put your head upside down and blast with a hairdryer, using a paddle brush to get some height into the style. Then run some serum wax through to the ends for added texture.
Victoria Beckham's Posh Bob is a graduated bob that is shorter at the back than at the front, with choppy layers at the sides and front, using thinning scissors. The colour is her own natural highliughts from living in the Spanish sun.
Her hairdresser, Ben Cooke, explains "It's a classic graduated bob that's been shattered to give it a more modern edge."

To follow Siennas short style, leave your hair to dry naturally or give it a quick blast of a hairdryer for a more casual, messed up look. Without looking in a mirror rub a small amount of wax into your hands and work through to the ends of your hair for even distribution. Finally, gently tease into place with your fingers.

Short Hair Styles

If your hair is short you still have endless options for Short Hair Styles and effects.
Bangs or fringes can be cut short or blunt.
Hair jewelry can be used such as barettes, clips and hairpins and they really help you to not be bored and can help you out of an awkward spot when hair is growing.
Hair products can be used in your hair to create spikey and messy styles.
For a slick and sculptured flat look, along the lines of the extreme 20s look, using hair product smooth your hands over your hair to make it behave. Little spit curls on the side can add fine detail.
Colors and dyes are a great way of spicing up short styles.

Cheat with Colour

Blunt Fringed
Posted Friday, September 29, 2006

Blunt fringes can be difficult to pull off, especially if you have a round face or a square jaw line, as they create the illusion of adding width.
Ditch yours for a softer, sweeping fringe that elongates the face and makes you seem slimmer.

Cautious with Curls

A hot look this summer is the bob, which is easily worn and suits lots of face shapes. To maintain the bob, just make sure your hair is in top condition.

The New Blonde
Posted Tuesday, August 01, 2006
|
Mischa Barton, Charlize Theron and Carmen Electra have all recently changed the colour of their hair to a classier shade of darker blonde which is very flattering and achievable on a light brown to light blonde natural hair colour.
Ask your hairdresser for a darker blonde base with lots of gold, copper-gold and a hint of light chestnut woven through in the right areas to get a variation of tone throughout.
Be sure that your hairdresser uses at least five bowls of different tones to colour your hair or it won't come out right.

The new swept up fringe
Posted Tuesday, May 23, 2006
|
For the latest hair fashion, take inspiration from Anna Kournikova and Paris Hilton and opt for a swept-up-fringe.

You can easily achieve this look by preparing you hair with a volumising mouse designed to add body and shine to your hair.
Next, blow-dry your hair away from your face using a round brush.
Take individual sections of hair on your head and tease the roots with a pintail comb, moving from your crown towards the front of your head.
To finish this styles smooth back the top layer of your hair and fix it to the base of your crown with grips.
A fine mist of hairspray will keep it all in place and complete your sophisticated look.
